Internal Links (Linking to another page within Overstock.com Guides)

While editing a guide or page, enter double square brackets around the text you wish to become a link. Example:

[[Marketing Through Social Media]]

will create a link to that page, like this:

Marketing Through Social Media

Assuming that the text in double brackets already exists as a guide or page on Overstock.com Guides, the link will display in blue and be immediately functional.

If you want the link to display a word or phrase different from the page name, you can use a pipe (|). The text before the pipe (|) is the page name. The text after the pipe is the label for that particular link. For example:

[[Marketing Through Social Media|writerjudd's guide]]

will display like this:

writerjudd's guide

External Links (Linking from a page on Overstock.com Guides to another website)

While editing a guide or page, enter square brackets around the URL and the description text you wish to become a link. Examples:

[http://www.overstock.com Overstock.com]

will create a new link that will look and function like this:

Overstock.com

or...

[http://www.overstock.com My favorite site]

will display like this:

My favorite site

(mouse over or click to verify the destination)
